This may not necessarily fall under the umbrella of contemporary art, but I stumbled upon something remarkable in my daily trawl of the interwebs. SPRANQ Communications, a creative company from the Netherlands, saw how much ink was being wasted in daily use printing and devised a way to save up to 20% of your ink. They developed a new font: the ecofont.
The idea is this:
And it’s based on the resolve that there is a certain amount of the letter you can remove that won’t affect it’s readibility.
I love the sweet, sweet union of design, technology and the practice of reducing your carbon footprint.
