Toronto the Arty

If you’re in the Greater Toronto Area you’ve likely heard something about the upcoming Scotiabank Nuit Blanche. Billed as a ‘free all-night contemporary art thing’, it’s coming up this weekend for all you lucky Torontonians.

Now, it’s not that I’m in the business to promote other people’s events, surely not! But if you are one of those lucky folks who gets to check out this event, be sure to stop in to see all your favorite Toronto galleries — many of whom are participating in Art Toronto 2009 and will have information available at their galleries about the show and how you can visit them there between October 23rd-26th.

No matter how you slice it, Toronto is the place to be this month — with dozens (heck, hundreds!) of cultural events happening. And Art Toronto is the biggest and (in my humble opinion) best event to check out to take the pulse of international contemporary art!

Don’t forget that in addition to the ONE HUNDRED galleries from all over Toronto and all over the world, there are lots of other great things to see and do! Pick up our limited edition print, created just for us by artist Jason McLean, go see one of our many talks or panels like T @ Three, News at Five, Power Talks, Power Forum and artACCESS. Spend some time in our flagship special project Heartland, curated by the one and only Jeffrey Spalding and visit Arena: Road Game, a special presentation by MOCCA.

If I wrote about it all, you’d still be reading this post by October 23rd and you’d miss the show! Instead, visit our website for more information.

And let’s not forget, with everything going on the BEST way to see the fair is to spend FOUR DAYS there — and you can see it on us! Just leave me a comment listing three of the one hundred participating galleries for your chance to win a four-day pass for two people, plus our gorgeous and glossy full-colour catalogue. Get your answers to me by Friday October 2 at 5pm PST!

Best of luck!
