Painting Extremes in Canadian Art

I make it a point to read Canadian Art’s weekly online digest – it’s always full of gems from local openings and events to broader trends and movements.

This week’s digest features a BRAVO!tv uses Canadian Art’s summer issue “All About Painting” as a jumping off point to discuss extreme painting in Canadian Art. Editor Rick Rhodes takes us on a tour of several exhibitions and galleries, including Art Toronto exhibitors Galerie René Blouin, Galerie PUSH, Galerie Trois Points, Galerie Donald Browne and Projex-MTL. You can view the video below, or click here to jump to the full Canadian Art online article.

You’ll see many of the works featured in the video at Art Toronto 2010 October 29-November 1 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. You can also get up close and personal with editor Rick Rhodes in the first ever Canadian Art-curated lounge at Art Toronto – Canadian Art NOW.

We’re only 12 weeks away from Canada’s biggest and most important contemporary art fair. We’ve got more than 100 Canadian and international contemporary art galleries showing the best and brighest artists from across the country and around the world; we also have a solid line up of programming you’ll love, as well as some VERY special curated exhibits from exciting and relevant young Canadian art idols.

This is the time to join our mailing list, follow us on twitter and like us on facebook to keep up with all the exciting news coming down the pipes in the next couple of months! You won’t want to miss a thing!
